While some programs attempt to teach traditional or “grown-up” yoga to students, we facilitate fun Yoga movements together to connect to all students regardless of age, ability and cultural background, perfect for integrated classroom setting! We experience first hand the laughter, the freedom, the ultimate elevation that comes from grounding ourselves! When we learn to let go of all our inhibitions, fears and expectations we liberate ourselves and we feel empowered. Whether in the Classroom, in the Gym, or at home, we inspire ourselves to help each other to ground ourselves in order to elevate our lives and the world in which we live.

When we are quiet and relaxed, we are open to receiving and reinforcing information. Guided positive relaxing images help increase our concentration and memory skills, improve academic learning, and excel in sports and most importantly reduce stress. Our quiet time becomes an opportunity to share our wishes, dreams, and fears with each other. We all learn easily, creatively, and without stress!

Yoga is a gentle introduction to physical activity for more sedentary students, and an ideal complement to the athletic endeavors of more sports-minded kids. Remember that kids play sports to have fun, so we keep the pressure low, the support high, and injuries at bay. Yoga helps athletes progress from average to advanced, advanced to awesome. A magnificent addition to any athlete’s exercise program, yoga will build proficiency, and make injury less likely. Yoga, particularly the breathing exercises, strengthens the mind/body connection. Yoga offers a respite from the pressures of athletics. Sports by nature are competitive, while yoga is non-competitive.

What separates yoga from other forms of exercise is the constant and continual awareness of breath. The breath is the link between the mind and the body. Every moment of our life, our breath affects how we feel – and how we feel affects our breath. Most of us tend toward rapid, shallow breathing. This pattern is associated with feeling calm and relaxed. Deep slow breaths are also much more effective at getting oxygen into our blood streams, whichs helps us feel more alert and focused. This state of being both relaxed and alert is the optimal state of learning. When we bring more oxygen to the brain, we function at our best!
