Yoga is a gentle introduction to physical activity for more sedentary students, and an ideal complement to the athletic endeavors of more sports-minded kids. Remember that kids play sports to have fun, so we keep the pressure low, the support high, and injuries at bay. Yoga helps athletes progress from average to advanced, advanced to awesome. A magnificent addition to any athlete’s exercise program, yoga will build proficiency, and make injury less likely. Yoga, particularly the breathing exercises, strengthens the mind/body connection. Yoga offers a respite from the pressures of athletics. Sports by nature are competitive, while yoga is non-competitive.
